Honestly, this is a dream come true. Just last year, I became a huge fan of LxE. After "The Measure" came out, I was instantly hooked to his music. It was soooooooooo refreshing! I'll tell ya'll the honest to God story of how we met: Stalley had a show at the Grog (in Cleveland Heights) one night. Me and James John decided to go, to show our support for him. So we're in the Grog, watchin all the opening acts (which included Camp-Lo by the way) and I hop on my Twitter mobile app. I follow LxE on Twitter, and he tweets that he's at Guy's Pizza Shop which is right down the street from the Grog! I tweeted back to him sayin he should come down to the Grog, he responds and says "Naw fam, I'ma eat a slice of pizza first." So I think for a minute and respond back, "Aiight, we comin down to say what's up!"
I decided to take this opportunity to meet him and also network. Me and James head over to Guy's, and when we get there, there he is LxE. No huge entourage, no bodyguards, just he, his girlfriend Keturah, and another friend of his. So we chop it up a lil bit, I'm tellin him how much of a fan I am of him, and how much me and J love The Measure, and he tells us he really appreciates it. Then we just chop it up about any and everything: Sneakers, Ohio Hip-Hop, Who's Hot, Who's Not, Pizza, etc. We exchanged contact, and he tells me he's still accepting submissions for his upcoming EP.
I sent him over a beat tape with like 15 bangers on there. I ain't hear back from him for like 2 weeks. Then one day, I'm drivin home from work, doin what I been doin practically every day since last summer, bumpin The Measure. Then I get a phone call from LxE himself! He says "Fam, I need this jawn right here!" and he tells me the beat that would later become "Paper Rocket." I was beside myself, I was just thanking God for the opportunity. Just last year I was a fan, now I have a new big brother to look up to and couldn't be happier!
