I know ya'll been wondering...where the hell is SoulKlap? As you can see the blog has been slow this year so far with under 10 posts in 2010. So here's the update:
In December of 2009, I started my company,
SoulEssential Recordings, LLC. I am now in the process of building my company and releasing new music. With the help of a few business partners I am now in works to release my first official project under SER,
Klapisms Vol. 1, The Mixtape. I can't tell you how good it feels to not only be able to create music that you love, but to be able to do it in the name of your own company is surreal. I have no one but God to thank for that, and I thank him everyday.
I'm steadily learning new things about running a business everyday. How to set deadlines, how to set and manage a budget, how to network and meet people who are down for the cause. I'm in the process of going through Entrepreneurship 101 on a daily basis. I am hoping to have
Klapisms finished in late March, early April but do not quote me on that. Although I would like to get the music to you, my fans, as soon as possible, I want to make sure that it is presented exactly how I pictured it. I can tell you that the music on
Klapisms Vol. 1, is the best music that I have made to date. It will feature new original work as well as the beat jacking that most fans are accustomed to hearing from their favorite MCs.
I am also planning on partnering with another popular blog with this mixtape's release. I will not disclose the blogger's name at this time, but I think that this is gonna be big for the both of us!
My first official single, "
iOweYou," will be released here exclusively at SoulerSpace! next month! I promise you, it does not disappoint.
Another project that I'm currently working on is
Give Up The Sticks! along with Divine Minds. This project has been a year in the making and will finally be seeing its release to the world this spring. The project, which is the brainchild of James John of DM, is entirely inspired by video games. Every beat has a video game sample, and the subject matter to each track is also video game addiction. In my mind this is gonna change to game! Be on the lookout for that soon.
